This module focuses exclusively on the application of research-based framework on cognition and learning, as described in Dimensions of Learning. This module demonstrates how teachers could improve the quality of teaching-learning processes in any content area, by applying key principles of Dimensions of Thinking (note: "Thinking is the highest form of Learning"). This module would help every teacher to a) maintain focus on learning (thinking); b) study and better understand the learning process; and c) plan curriculum, instruction, and assessment that considers the five critical aspects of learning (thinking)
At the end of this module, the student will be able to do the following:
1. Identify key principles of learning that directly or indirectly relate to higher quality teaching practices.
2. Recognize that learning involves a complex system of interactive processes that includes five types of thinking - represented by the five dimensions of learning / thinking.
3. Align lesson planning and execution of the same with the complex system of interactive processes that includes the five types of thinking advocated through the five dimensions of learning.
4. Recognize and implement lessons that systematically include teaching of attitudes, perceptions, and mental habits that facilitate learning.
5. Prepare and implement lessons that are both teachers directed as well as student directed.
6. Critically observe and evaluate other teachers’ teaching practices in the context of the five dimensions of
learning / thinking, and coach fellow teachers in the arts and science of effective DOL/DOT implementation (DOL
= Dimensions of Learning / DOT = Dimensions of Thinking).
This module focuses on enhancing student teachers’ capacity to understand and plan for active learning in classrooms. This module will address class management; developing a community of learners (e.g. group work; cognitive strategy instruction), approaches to learning (cognitive and socio-cultural theories); and literacy across the curriculum. It would also address effective teaching and learning including active learning, constructivism, multiple intelligences, teaching and learning styles, classroom planning, interaction, differentiation and assessment.

A comprehensive look at best practice in both leadership and people management. The fundamental start point is that Leadership is different from Management and, although almost all agree to this, research continues to show that businesses and organisations are struggling to identify and use these differences effectively. Business results are suffering as a result. Taken from the European University's MBA programme, this online offering is provided in 30 sections and involves approximately 25 hours of learning. Designed over a six month period in 2019 it brings together much that we have learned on impactive leadership as opposed to effective management!!

This course is designed to develop skills in designing, conducting and evaluating action research in the context of management practice. Research can be one of the most interesting features of any degree course as it offers you a measure of control and autonomy over what you learn. It gives you an opportunity to confirm, clarify, pursue – or even discover –new aspects of a subject or topic you are interested in.
